Born in 1958, I have been a late adopter when it comes to
photography. My first real experience was with digital, and the
accelerated learning made possible by the digital revolution has
really helped me to develop a passion for the instant gratification
that digital provides.
A chance purchase of a digital camera to take holiday snaps has
turned into an all-consuming passion for the pursuit of the perfect
image. Whilst not a full-time professional photographer, I am a
committed enthusiast, and have had some success both in competitions
and with commercial sales of my work. I do photographic work for the
local zoos when time permits.
Actually it hardly seems fair to call what I do work. I love
nothing better than to set up my camera and often wait hours for the
shot that matches what’s in my mind’s eye. There is something
quite spiritual about capturing an image of God’s creation in all
its beauty and spontaneity.
I started out with travel shots and landscapes, but along the
way, I have experimented with macro and wildlife photography. I
greatly admire the work of my colleagues here at DPI and feel
privileged to be a part of such a talented group.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, which is vibrant city of
nearly four million people whose origins are from every corner
of the world. It is a city that energises me and offers many
opportunities to the keen photographer. I hope that the small
selection of my work that appears here gives some joy to you
the viewer. I have enjoyed taking every one of them and if
some of that joy is transferred to the viewer, then I will be
happy that I am doing something worthwhile.
One day I hope to be in the enviable position of making a
good living from doing what I love…I wish you the same prize
in life.
